Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This page is maintained by the 100Eats team. It is a general template and should be reviewed by a legal professional before launch. Bracketed values are placeholders.
1.Who we are
[COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("100Eats", "we", "us") operates the 100Eats app and this website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
2.Data we collect
- Account data — name or username, email address, password credentials, and optional profile photo.
- Location — approximate or precise location (with your permission) so we can show the Top 100 for the city you are in. You can decline and choose a city manually.
- Activity data — head-to-head votes, saved restaurants, visited restaurants, and other in-app actions.
- Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, crash reports and anonymised analytics events.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email or in-app support.
3.How we use it
To create and secure your account; to compute and display city rankings; to personalise discovery and saved lists; to fix bugs and improve the app; to prevent fraud and vote manipulation; to respond to support requests; and to send service messages. Where required, we rely on your consent (for example for precise location and marketing) and you can withdraw it at any time.
4.Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run 100Eats — cloud hosting and database, analytics, crash reporting and email delivery — under contracts that limit their use of it, and with authorities where legally required. Aggregated, non-identifying ranking data may be shown publicly in the app.
Current processors: [LIST YOUR PROVIDERS].
5.Retention
We keep account data while your account is active and for [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 30 days] after deletion, unless a longer period is required by law. Votes may be retained in anonymised, aggregated form so rankings remain accurate.
6.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can delete your account in the app or email [SUPPORT EMAIL]; we respond within [RESPONSE PERIOD, e.g. 30 days]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7.Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, access controls and database-level authorisation rules. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8.Children
100Eats is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their data; if we learn we have, we delete it.
9.International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including [COUNTRIES]. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10.Changes and contact
We will update this policy as the app evolves and revise the "Last updated" date above. Questions or requests: [SUPPORT EMAIL], [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS].
